Linda,

I was so sorry to hear of Stephen’s passing. I have had many happy times dancing to his fine fiddling and singing, with your great clawhammer banjo keeping me on the beat. He was a special man, and my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Jim & Jeri Sebastian’s dancing friend, Linda

I was shocked to find out today that a mentor of mine has passed on. I had the pleasure of working with det. Cabe for about 4 years.I know live in Florida but still keep tabs on where my career started in wilkes county. Steve was my go to guy when I was stumped on something and he always had the super knowledge of law enforcement, charging , and the understanding it took to be an officer. My sincerest condolences to all of his family. He was a great man and will greatly missed by many. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower, We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind.

Sincerely, former Wilkes Deputy Sean T Roberts
