Dear Ruth,

Fritz and I were shocked to pick up the Chronicle and find Bud's Obituary. I had had a very nice conversation with Bud at Ingles a couple of days before we left Cashiers. We are so terribly sorry. He was such a fine gentleman and Fritz loved playing tennis with him at CCRC in the earlier days of our years in Cashiers.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and all of Bud's family. We will miss him.
