R. Lupoli, Sr.
One day, during
a particularly bad winter, I went to the post office.
the parking lot had not been plowed or salted and was covered
in ice and snow. I got the mail and walked down the ramp to the
edge of the parking lot and stopped, paralyzed by fear.
There I stood;
frozen in place with no idea how I would get back to my car, when
I heard a soft voice behind me say, "Here Jeremy, take my
arm"...that voice was John Lupoli, Sr. Always courteous,
always courtly, he escorted me to my car. I don't think I have
ever felt to safe.
