he Family of Parker Mathis,

My heart is heavy as I write this note to a wonderful family. I have had the pleasure of knowing and teaching all three boys. As a teacher, you hope that in some way you can bless a child. This young man blessed me. When I remember Parker, I think of a student who cared for others, his grades, and his appearance. I saw his educational achievements as well as athletic achievements. He always had a smile to share and something good to say about everyone he met. I admire all of his qualities. My prayers are with every family member and friend. Parker is with God now and we shall see him again in a much happier place.

May God Bless, Judy Bell (6 th grade teacher)

Last Sunday Oct. 3, 2010 will always be a sad day in your lives as you remember the great loss of your Parker.

Let us share with you this story, you see on this same day just a few hours before the accident took your Parker's life our 9 year old grandson Parker was baptized in the same creek about a 100 yards from where the accident took place. As you know baptism shows being buried with Christ and being raised with him in the newness of life (Romans 6 1:6), so this day is also special to us. Why things happen as they do will always be a mystery to us here. I don't believe in just coincidences so could it be to show us that two Parker's (you know it's not a common first name) one raised in the newness of life in Baptism and the other lost his life here as we know it, but he will also be raised in the newness of life someday.

We are truly very sorrowful for your loss and are praying for you all. May God continue to bless.

I did not know Parker very well personally but I know a lot of people that were very close to him. He was a very loveable person that always had people laughing and smiling. It is sad to see someone at such a young age leave us here on earth. Just keep in mind that everything happens for a reason and that God is in control and knows all things. He has a plan, we may not know or understand why he had to take Parker but it is in his hands. He is in a much better place now and one day we will all see him again! I will have all family and friends in my prayers

God Bless,

Robin and Family,

My heart aches for you. We don’t understand why, but someday we will. As your dad has preached many times about walking through deaths door, in a split second, Parker walked through that door and was instantly and forever made whole with a new body. We know that Parker is in Heaven, as we at Oakdale Baptist Church had the honor of seeing him go forward a few weeks ago, and rededicate his life and soul to God. I have had the pleasure of knowing Parker through the church and the Youth Group, and he will surely be missed. I love you all and praying constantly for you. To Parker: we love and miss you so and we will see you again!
