Jim
was a kind and patient teacher and friend to me when I was a young art student
in Atlanta. All of his students were in awe of his skill and creative courage.
He was an important inspiration to many art students and professional artists.
Perhaps even more importantly, he was an example of a fully realized individual
human being, one of the very few I have ever known. My sincere condolences to
