Subject: JB Passmore ~ almost a year gone by and still (June 2008)

Next month will be a year since JB passed away. And still there is not a country song I hear that doesn’t remind me of this man’s voice and his passion for music and people. My husband and I still miss him dearly and speak of him often. Just his presence in a room could make you laugh. I don’t think there was a moment in time where he was around us we weren’t laughing. I also think back on how much he must have ignored his own suffering and pain in order to continue to help and service someone else. That’s just who he was. He was contagious with his own personal joy he would pass out to everyone else. I know for sure he’s in a better place, the best of places with God. For that his family can be assured of, and never have to question. I pray that we all who will someday leave behind love ones will leave them as assured of our salvation. Even in Jays passing, he still managed to offer peace for all who loved him knowing we would see him again IF we chose to. Thank you JB for giving so much to everyone else around you. Dan and I will never ever forget you!!!

Dawn Willett, your sister in law and in the Lord!!!

Mrs. Passmore,

I am so sorry to hear of JBs passing. I used to work at walmart a few years ago and he always got me a reesescup when he came thru my line.

He was such a good person and funloving to. I know words arent much at this time but I hope you find comfort in the time you had together. I just thought about him the other day and was telling my husband about him. He always made me smile when i was having a hard day at work.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family.

Sincerely,
Michelle Ream

Next to losing my little brother, David Lyle Spencer, 36, almost seven years ago to cancer, the loss of Jay is one of the hardest hits in my life.

Jay never met my brother, but still sang with the voice of an angel at his memorial service. Singing “Go Rest High on that Mountain” with his wife, my sister, Diane, and with such emotion, leaving everyone of us in the room in solid rivers of tears. Now Jay has joined my beautiful brother high on that mountain. No more pain. No more tears. Nothing, but total paradise, laughter, joy, and peace. I know he is sitting right next to the Lord Himself. Jay was such a man that would give his last shirt off his back to a total stranger and never expect anything in return. Jay was such an amazing human being with so much love in his heart. I will truly miss him with all my heart and I pray that I come even a little bit close to the amount of human decency and forgiveness, in my whole body that he had in his little pinkie. I pray that the Lord Almighty watch over all those who knew and loved him, who even had the chance to meet him or just breathe next to him in passing. Jay is now one of the most Heavenly of Angels and I will be proud to have him help the Lord to watch over me and all others who loved him. Jay, you are truly missed. I love you, my dearest brother-in-law, I love you.

Family,

J.B. is now at rest and has no more pain and suffering. Rejoice in the fact that he is free of all that and is resting in the arms of Jesus. I know he was loved by a lot of people who enjoyed his band. I know you will miss him but you will see him again someday. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless!
