Subject: Jerry Lee Patton

I extend my condolences to the family of Jerry Lee Patton, a fellow 1960 FHS class member and Franklin Boy Scout. His passing leaves our class with happy memories of our school years together with Jerry who entertained us with his wit and humor. He was affectionately known by most classmates and teachers as “Beetle”, after the character Beetle Bailey of the comic strips. He was voted our ‘class wit’, but as you know he was much more than that. He went on to serve his country in the Navy and had a career with the US Emigration service. I was proud to know him as a classmate and fellow Boy Scout.
