I have just learned of LD Roper’s untimely passing this past June . LD was a valued customer of us at McLamb Nursery but even more importantly he was a good man. His kindness and spirit were refreshing to see in the business world of today. We always look forward to his trips to our nursery and conversations we would have. LD Roper and I shared a similar past, grounded in agriculture, and would often send more time discussing those similarities than business. We will miss him greatly. We would like to send Linda and Jacob our condolences and prayers during this time.

To all family members:

I remember Larry as a happy, outgoing person, always willing to help a friend. I attended Berea College at the same time as Larry and we stayed in close touch for several years afterward. Please know that he was liked by everyone who knew him and loved by those who were closest to him. I know that Larry knew Christ as his Savior and that he is in Heaven today.

I was saddened to hear about Larry's death.

Since Larry was a couple of years behind me at Franklin High School, I didn't get to know him well until he came to Berea. At least once a semester, I tried to have the
Macon County Folks over to my dorm for a home cooked meal. I always
enjoyed it and it gave me an opportunity to get to know Larry better.
He was always such a cheerful, polite, and fun loving person - he added
life to our gathering! I know that he fought a tough battle and will be
missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this
very difficult time.
