Subject: Murl Spalding family

To Aunt Jean and family

I would like to take an opportunity to tell you all how very sorry I am of Uncle Murl's passing. He has been in my thoughts and prayers over the past several months as he struggled to gain his strength. He was a great man and I always enjoyed his visits. I'm sorry we couldn't participate in his funeral service because he certainly deserved the honor. My mother, Monica, was very upset that she couldn't attend, and I hated it for her, but age has slowed her a bit.
