Just read in the Roanoke Rapids Daily Herald That Hart had passed away and was saddened by the news. Hart and I went all through school together in Weldon, attended the same church and he was such a nice guy to be around. I don't think our paths crossed after high school, but he was one that I would not forget. My sincere sympathy goes out to all of you.

Dear Jeremy,

We were so sadden to here of Hart's death. He was an exceptional person, combining intelligence and wit with grace and dignity. We will always remember the good times, his laugh, his character and his affection. We know how important you are to each other. We grieve for you and we love you.

From: Brant Smith

  Dear Jeremy,

I am Brant Smith and grew up in Weldon with Hart. Hart and I were pretty much constant companions during the ninth through eleventh grade time frame when my family lived in Weldon with my grandmother. I've always regarded him as one of my best friends growing up. Surely we shared many "coming of age moments" as well as many rambunctious moments that you don't tell your kids about. Tasting my first beer and appropriating the family car during late evening hours before either of us had drivers licenses come to mind.

Although I havent seen Hart since our youth I have often thought of him and our experiences growing up. He was a wonderful friend and a bright and gifted person. I am sorry for your loss and want you to know that I share that sense of loss with you.

With Sincere Sympathy,

Brant Smith, Heel74@comcast.net
