I was saddened to learn, just this morning, of G.P.’s passing last October. G.P. was a highly-respected professional colleague of mine, and also a personal friend; I shall miss him greatly in both capacities.

I first met G.P. face to face on January 14, 2003, when we were working together on a project for the Georgia Ports Authority. I was immediately impressed by his combination of finely-honed legal skills and common sense; he was a lawyer’s lawyer in the best sense, and I have enjoyed working with him on various matters for the Ports Authority ever since.

In 2005, when I was first considering a change in my law firm status from partner to “of counsel,” G.P. was the first colleague I contacted for advice, and his wise counsel proved invaluable to me in making that transition.

G.P. was a true gentleman as well as a supremely skilled attorney, and his passing is a loss for everyone who had the good fortune to know him. God bless you, G.P.!

Beverly and Family.

Sorry to learn of Brother " Geepy's passing. As a wonderful member of the Legion of Honor ( Mu # 1144) who now will rest in Our Chapter Eternal. he was one who was most prepared to die and was one of the most prepared to live. You and the children and grandchildren can relish the wonderful times you spent in the N. Ga mountains and can take solace in the fact that Death cannot sever what the cross unites. What he has weaved in time here on earth he will proudly wear in Eternity and I have asked our Chapter in Athens to have a special prayer for him today at Homecoming and tomorrow at a special initiation to be conducted at the Fraternity House. you have the prayers's and sympathy from Betty and our entire family plus a large number of members of the Legion of Honor.

Dear Beverly,

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. I worked with G.P. at Kilpatrick for 7 years, and saw him from time to time when I visited the firm since I left in 2000. My family and I also bumped into you and G.P. at the Marietta Ice Center a couple of times when my daughter and one of your grandchildren was skating there some years ago.

I wanted you to know that both from a personal and professional standpoint, working with G.P. and knowing him was a joy. He always had a kind word of encouragement and was willing to answer any question with a smile on his face. He was always patient, considerate and helpful to his colleagues. I would consider him to be one of my mentors at the firm and one of the very best attorneys with whom I have ever had the privilege to work. He was selfless and, even after I left the firm, whenever I saw him, was concerned about my welfare and what was going on in my life. I also know how proud he was of his family and his grandchildren and he loved to talk about them. He was never so happy as when he was able to show wonderful pictures of his grandchildren to us at the firm. I am sure that you and your family have many happy times to remember and cherish. Please know that my thoughts and prayers and those of my family are with you.

Sincerely, Lori Shapiro

Dear Beverly and daughters,

Bob and I were so sadden to hear Geepy had lost his battle. We had hoped to get to the hospital and visit again. We know he waged a long battle with great courage.

We will be remembering you and yours in this time of loss and trusting that renewed strength is experienced each day. The family has a great heritage to treasure. Our prayers are with you.

Sincerely, Bob and Glenda Youngblood.
