Iltis
Franklin, NC
-Ilene
Verna Iltis, age 74, of Wayah Drive, Franklin, NC passed away Sunday,
May 8, 2011 at her residence. Born in Mt. Clemens, MI she was the
daughter of the late Richard Charles and Phylis Verna Black Iltis.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was
very active and served as secretary. She was a loving mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother.
She is survived
by one daughter, Terry Lynn Deichert and husband Tom of Farmington,
MI; three sons, Bruce Allen Stumbaugh of St. Petersburg, FL; David
Charles Stumbaugh and wife Telma of Franklin, NC and William George
Daniels of Crestview, FL and one brother, James Bruce Iltis, Sr.
of Cape Coral, FL. Eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Charles
Iltis, Jr.
A memorial service
will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Margaret Freeman and Dr. John Fowler
officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m.,
one hour prior to the service, at the church. In lieu of flowers
memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association of North
Carolina, PO Box 27895, Raleigh, NC 27611-7985 or "The Walk",
c/o First United Methodist Church, 66 Harrison Ave., Franklin, NC
28734.

Mae Irby
Franklin, NC -Dorothy
Mae Irby, age 77, of Lyle Downs Road, Franklin, NC passed away Sunday,
April 13, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born in Hines Co.,
Mississippi, the daughter of the late Willie H.M. and Lois P. Given
Bates. She was an office worker for the Indiana State Highway Department
and was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. She was a member
of the Order of Eastern Star and Extension Homemakers.
She
is survived by her husband of 50 years, Howard Eugene Irby; one
daughter, Ms. Terry Turnvull of Cambridge, England; two sons, David
A. Irby of Hammond, IN. and Paul A. Hampton of Michigan; five sisters,
Peggy Schichner of Lodi, CA, Roseanne Dalton of Valencia, CA, Sarah
Jo Muller of Palms, CA, Margott Griffin of Homer, Louisiana and
Dancia Brooks of Hendersonville, TN; three granddaughters, Michelle
Ann Hampton, Marcie Kaye Hampton and Taylor Nicole Irby. She was
preceded in death by a brother, James Bates.
A
memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 11:00 AM at
Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Odom officiating.

Howard
Eugene Irby
Franklin, NC - Howard Eugene Irby, age 85, of Franklin, NC, passed
away Sunday, December 28, 2008. He was the son of the late Everett
and Amy Irby. He was a native of Mantoon, IL and was a Union painter
for fifty years. He was a member of Snow Hill Methodist Church.
He
is survived by his daughter, Terry Turnbull of Cambridge, England
and two sons David Irby of Hammond, Indiana and Paul Hampton of
Michigan. One sister, Louise Smiddy of Stiger, IL and one brother
Everette William Irby, Jr. of Hammond, IN.
A
memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM
at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ron Odom officiating.

Louise Ivester
Franklin,
NC - Lucille Louise Ivester, age 79, of Icenhower Drive, Franklin,
NC passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at Fidelia-Eckerd Living Center,
Highlands, NC. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of
the late William Judson and Emma Lakey Icenhower. She was married
to James M. Ivester who passed away in 1998. She was a homemaker
and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She
is survived by her daughter, Linda Edwards and her husband, Donnie
of Highlands, NC; three sons, William Ammons and his wife Debbie
of Winston-Salem, NC, Rev. Neil Ammons and his wife Sherry of Franklin,
NC and Gary Ammons of Highlands, NC; one sister, Floy Jean McGraw
of Morrisboro, NC; two brothers, Jasper L. Icenhower of Statesville,
NC and Manuel Judson Icenhower of Winston-Salem, NC. Seven grandchildren
and twelve great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in
death by a sister, Helen Clark and a brother, Clarence Icenhower.
Funeral
services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Wednesday, April
7 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Morris Tippett, Rev. Kenneth Carver and
Rev. Judson Hall officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Baptist
Church Cemetery.
The
family will receive friends Wednesday, April 7 from 10:00-11:00
AM, one hour prior to service at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lucille's memory to the
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital or to Fidelia-Eckerd Living Center,
PO Box 190, Highlands, NC 28741.
