Antone Almeida Correia, 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017.  He was born in Bristol County, Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph Almeida Correia and Mary Pacheco Correia.  He was in the Marines for six years, serving during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Massachussetts Police Association, VFW, and American Legion.  After retiring as a police officer, he continued to volunteer in the Major Crimes Division, in Fall River MA for 28 years.  He loved fishing, camping, and family gatherings with his large family.  Mr. Correia was a member of St. Michaels in Fall River, MA, where he was very active in doing volunteer work for the Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Charette Correia; a daughter, Ann Marie Raymond (Mike) of Franklin, NC, a son, Paul Correia of Osakis, MN; 4 granddaughters, Katelylnd Willis, Jennifer and Kristi Correia and Nicole Raymond; six  grandsons, Chad Coury, Albert and Harley Simmel, Mikey Raymond, Bobby Correia and Michael Correia; 3 great‑grandsons and 4 great‑granddaughters; two sisters, Madeline Catrobuse and Irene Orlando both of Fall River, MA; a brother, Joseph Correia of Fall River, MA; he is also survived by many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Robert Correia and a grandson, Robert Correia, II; brothers, Arthur, Eddie, Lewis, and Alvin Correia and sisters, Tilley, Terry, Mary and Ines.
