Betty Jean (Norris) McCall

Betty Jean Norris McCall, 80, of Highlands went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was born in Macon County , the daughter of the late Alex and Beulah Rogers Norris. She was married for 40 years to Cletis McCall who preceded her in death in September of 1991.

Mrs. McCall was a passionate loving mother who cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a member of Highlands Assembly of God Church where she was the bookeeper for many years. She was also an honorary member of Highlands Ladies Garden Club. She loved gardening and growing beautiful dahlias and making flower arrangements. She was an excellent cook who always loved to prepare meals for those in need. She had a servant's heart for the Lord.

Survivors include five of her six children, Daniel Lee McCall "Jabo" of Scaly Mtn., Leroy McCall "Spud" of Highlands, Linda McCall of the home, Turtle Pond, Doyle Wayne McCall (Teresa) of Goldmine; Mary Ellen Cooper (Gary) of Turtle Pond; seven grandchildren; 14 great‑grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Norris of Scaly Mtn. and Bill Norris of Franklin and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta McCall who died May 10, 2004.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Highlands Assembly of God Church with Rev. Randy Reed and Rev. Aaron Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris McCall, Jamie Holt, Kenny Talley, Jack McCall, Matthew McCall, Tom Holt, Jerry McCall, Bryant Phillips and Kenneth Norris.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 ‑ 8:00 pm at Highlands  Assembly of God Church.
