Edgar Wayne Mashburn

Edgar Wayne Mashburn, 74, of Franklin passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. Born in Macon County, NC, he was the son of the late Henry and Ruth Angel Mashburn. He was married for 51 years to Armanda Woody Mashburn who preceded him in death on January 5, 2017.

Mr. Mashburn worked many years in carpet and textile manufacturing at Rabun Mills. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he enjoyed gardening, and rabbit hunting.

Survivors include his sons, Mitchell Wayne Mashburn of Franklin, Kenneth Darrell Mashburn (Donna) of Charlotte and John Stanley Leland of Georgia; six grandchildren and four great‑grandchildren; one brother, Gene Mashburn of Alabama and his mother‑in‑law, Pauline Woody Carver of Walhalla, SC.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 ‑ 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
