Henry Coleman Passmore

Henry Coleman Passmore, 86, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was born in Macon County, the son of Johnny Coleman Passmore and Elsie Palmer Passmore. He retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Passmore was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he was a church trustee. He was very actively involved with soul winning, prayer and he was always in attendance at church activities. 

He was married for 63 years to Roberta Mae Arnold Passmore who preceded him in death March 6, 2016.

Survivors include nine children, Ella O’ Brien (Joe) of Franklin, Henry A. Passmore (Katsuko) of Barstow, CA, Paul Passmore (Ruby) of New London, NC, Janie Drapeau (Kelvin) of Yuma, AZ, Rick Passmore (Tammy) of Taylorsville, NC, Lethia Shaver (Doug) of Dacula, GA, Jenny Guyer (Jimmy) of Franklin, Alice McCall (Keith) of Franklin,  and Teresa Massie (Kevin) of Clyde, NC; forty two grandchildren; 32 great‑grandchildren; one great‑great‑grandchild, and a sister, Ruby Haskett of Franklin.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Gilmer Passmore and twin infant sons; sisters, Myrtle Passmore and Lola Belle Passmore; brothers, Junior Passmore, Daniel Passmore, Ernest Passmore, Herman Passmore, Vance Passmore, Leonard Passmore and a little brother.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Allen Drapeau, James Conley, Aaron Beaver, Nick McCall, Derek Scruggs and Mitchell Bowman. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 ‑ 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
