Ida Lee Moffitt Thomas, 92, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 10, 2017 with Wayne and Janice at her side at the High Point Hospice Home. Mrs. Thomas was born April 25, 1924 in Macon County to the late Lawrence and Bertha Ledford Moffitt. She was married to the late William Carl Thomas who preceded her in 1996. Ida was a member of College Heights Baptist Church in High Point, NC where she was a pre-school Sunday School teacher for many years. She also attended Black Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Coltrane and husband Darrell of Kernersville, NC; a son, Wayne Thomas and his wife, Bonnie of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter-in-law, Alice Thomas of Winston-Salem, NC; her twin sister, Anna Lee Shope of Franklin, NC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Carl Prince of Franklin, NC.
Mrs.Thomas was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Michael Thomas; four sisters, Nellie Stamey, Nina Sanders, Ethel Thomas, and Hermie Dills; and four brothers, Leonard Moffitt, Ervin Moffitt, Roy Moffitt, and Ernest Moffitt.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Moffitt, Mr. Darrell Coltrane, and Rev. Cale Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory.
