Mary J. (Lopez) Edwards

Mary J. Edwards (Lopez) 12‑08‑1928 to 10‑30‑17, of Franklin, NC, passed with peace in Margate, FL, and is in heaven with Jesus and her beloved husband, Jack E. Edwards. She spent many years in Franklin, and was active in many organizations over the years that were near to her heart. She led an active life in the community until a year before her passing and left an indelible impact on everyone whose life she touched. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a much cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great‑great grandmother, sister and aunt.

She was the first born of Jose and Mary Lopez, and had 10 siblings, with her brothers, Benjamin, Steve, Jack, Arthur and Joe predeceasing her. She is survived by four sisters, Marge, Billie, Debbie and Carol and one brother, Bob. Mary leaves behind three children, William A. Brown (Phyllis), Susan B. Hartman (David) and Robin R. Marcolino (Frank); six grandchildren, Jason Withrow (Lisa), Roxanne Grimm, Stephanie Wendel, Sara DeSouza, Ashley Marcolino and Tyler Marcolino; ten great grandchildren, three great‑great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, 139 Setser Branch Road, Franklin, NC with Rev. Tom Grubb and Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mary’s family would ask that friends and family attending her service, wear white or bright colors to celebrate her life.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the church.
