I knew Bob and Mary my whole life and have always been a huge fan of both of them and the entire Sears family. I am working in my shop in Colorado today with his West Point Hall of Fame newspaper clipping hanging on my wall as inspiration. When I visited him a few years back, I told him that I was married a few months ago and that now my wife and I were expecting our first child. Simple as ever, he smiled and said "well thats natural" with one of his short Bob haHAs after. Love to all.

Bob, and his late wife, Mary were like family to me. They always made me feel so welcome and loved. The last time I saw Bob, right before Thanksgiving, I said goodbye to him and he said."Goodbye, two weeks". He knew he would see me in two weeks. I will miss him as I know you will too. Love, Caitlin

What sad news but what a great age Bob lived to.

He and Mary were so welcoming to us when we arrived in Franklin from England back in 1982. I remember he was fascinated by an early computer he had which calculated all kinds of things including his bio-rhythms. He also tuned up my old 1966 Buick station wagon with great diligence and skill before I drove solo from Franklin to Santa Cruz CA.

We have a lovely picture of Mary and Bob walking down the main street in Highlands (I think) after our nephew Aaron's wedding a decade or so ago. Rip Bob, you were one of kind!

Mr. Sears was a wonderful man. I met him when I worked for Dr. Gene Lawrence, his dentist. Mr. Sears was always kind and so interesting with his stories to tell. I loved watching the care and devotion he showed taking care of his Mary. I feel blessed to have known him.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Bob in 1997, while working at Franklin Health & Fitness. We played racquetball several times a week & he almost always beat me...I was 40 & he was 80, lol! I would run all over the court & he would hit these little "dink" shots about 2 inches above the floor off the front wall, and I would just stand there & laugh at his ability to continually make me look unskilled. I enjoyed seeing that competitive side of Bob, but I enjoyed our casual conversation even more. He was very much a family man, proud of his accomplishments, but never boastful. He treated everyone with deference & is probably one of the last of that generation of true gentlemen. I know you're smiling now, Bob, because you are reunited with your beloved Mary. Godspeed!
