Thomas Marion Ammons, 82, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. Mr. Thomas was born in Macon County April 26, 1935 to the late Gordon and Sadie Cabe Ammons. He was a U.S. Army veteran; Mr. Ammons was a member of the Clark’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Clark’s Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. He was a VW mechanic and in 1977 he went to work for C.R. Industries until his retirement in 2000. He also loved to sing in the choir and loved to grow a garden. Mr. Ammons was always available to help in the community.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Ammons Wilkes and her husband Wesley; two grandchildren, Tommy Ammons and Jessica Ammons Webb and her husband Dale; four great-grandchildren, Payton Ammons, Kallie, Chelsea, and Colton Webb.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Henrietta Ammons and two sons, Roger and Bruce Ammons.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Clark’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Janet Greene officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
