Carolyn Howard White, 80, of Franklin passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama she was the daughter of the late Crawford Motley Howard and Mary Winniferd Barkley Howard.
Mrs. White attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA and received her Master's Degree at University of Georgia, Athens. She was a social worker and social security manager who volunteered her time for the benefit of Macon County and its residents serving as a volunteer for the rape crisis hotline of Macon County's women's shelter. She was a hard working single mom who loved her family dearly. She was an active member of Rotary Club as well as an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Franklin where she served as Elder. She obtained her private pilot's license and loved hanging out at the airport with her fellow pilots.
Survivors include her son, Albert White (Sherry Stephens) of Chamblee, GA; a sister, Loretta Howard of South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca White and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Franklin with Rev. Tempe Fussell officiating. A reception will be held following the service.
