On Thursday, October 5th Charlie Nicholas went home to be with the Lord. Charlie was born on July 10, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky where he studied Electrical and Mechanical Engineering after High School. He moved to Florida and was employed by Harris Corporation where he worked on components of one of the space shuttles and the Hubble Space telescope. After moving to Franklin he worked as an electrician. Charlie loved God and loved people. He was a member of Discover Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Mattingly of Louisville, Kentucky. Charlie always considered his family his greatest accomplishment and source of pride.  He is survived by his sister, Jan Zaepfel, of Louisville, his wife, traveling buddy, and project manager, Debbie Garvey, and his children, Jason and Brandi Nicholas of Richmond, Virginia, Jessica and Anthony Sequoia, of Cherokee, and Lewis and Nancy Nicholas, also of Cherokee, as well as stepchildren Trevor and Nicole Garvey, Tiffany and Chad Clower, both of Florida, and Tyler and Rachel Garvey, of Charlotte, North Carolina. His greatest blessing was being Pappy to his fifteen grandchildren, Jonah and Jada Nicholas, Bella and Luca Crawford, Shawn Sequoia, Ashlyne and Owen Nicholas, Kira, Kate, and Timothy Garvey, Austin Cox, Grady, Grace, and Ellie Clower, and Naomi Garvey. Charlie was an amazing father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
