Domer Slater Anderson, 88, of Franklin died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Franklin House under the care of his family, Franklin House staff, and CarePartners Home Care and Hospice services.
He was born April 9, 1929 in Ligonier, PA, the youngest child of Dwight and Mary (Weaver) Anderson. He honorably served his county as a corporal in the United Sates Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jane Louise Lyons on August 23, 1956 and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage with his bride.
Domer resided in Tampa, Florida and retired from Tampa Electric Company in 1986. He relocated to Brooksville, Florida and later to Franklin. He was active in the church and served for many years as a deacon at both Bethel Temple (Tampa) and Christian Life (Spring Hill) Assemblies of God.
Domer is survived by his loving wife, Jane, and three children Kandace (Alan) Murphy, Keith (Shari) Anderson, and Kimberly (Kenneth) Pearce; seven grandchildren Katie Murphy‑James, Shelby Easton, Erin Barbee, Alex Murphy, Kelsey Pearce, Rebeccah Burch and Garrett Anderson; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Visitation with the family will be held at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home in Franklin, NC, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 3pm‑5pm. A graveside service will be followed by interment at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2pm.
