Dorothy Elizabeth Allen Crisp, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 11, 2018. Mrs. Crisp was born in Macon County February 19, 1928 to the late William Ellis Allen and Ardenia Fowler Allen. She was a dedicated and active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church for 71 years until her declining health. Mrs. Dorothy worked at People’s Department Store for 20 years until her retirement. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Roy P. Crisp of the home; her children, Charles Crisp (Barbara Jo) of Liberty, SC, Ann Westbrook of Granite Quarry, NC, Roy F. Crisp of Franklin, NC, Barbara Spry (Jim) of Cooleemee, NC, and Tony Crisp (Carole) of Franklin, NC; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie Maude Garrison of Canton, Ga, and Betty Jean Jones of Griffin, Ga; two brothers, Billy Dean Allen of Cornelia, Ga, and Gary Neal Allen of Stanly, NC.
Mrs. Crisp was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis Allen; grandson, David Crisp, great grandson, Noah Crisp, son-in-law, Joe Westbrook, and daughter-in-law, Betty F. Crisp.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Spry, Rev. Chad Campbell, and Rev. Bud Haire officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Roy Crisp, II, Jeff Spry, Daniel Crisp, Cody Crisp, Dan Bickerstaff, and Wesley Morrow.
