Ella Faye Dowdle

Mrs. Ella Faye Dowdle, 90, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Woodland United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Eddie Usher officiating.   Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1:30p at the church.

Born in Franklin, NC, Mrs. Dowdle was a daughter of the late Jessie Sloan Holbrooks and the late Beadel Isenhower Holbrooks.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Doran Dowdle; her daughter, Patricia Ann Dowdle; her brother, Dillard Holbrooks; and her sister, Marie Mason.  She was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Walking Club at the church.  She loved to cook and serve others.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, shopping and traveling to the beach or the mountains.

Surviving are her sons, Larry Dowdle (Gail) of Walhalla and Edwin Dowdle (Lynn) of Catawba; her daughters, Margaret Wilson (Stan) of Loganville, GA, Doris Mitchell (Warren) of Edgemoor and Wanda Dowdle Davis of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Bob Holbrooks and Bill Holbrooks, both of Franklin, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Dowdle’s name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc of SC, 4124 Clemson Blvd, #L, Anderson, SC 29621 or to Woodland United Methodist Church, 801 N Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
