Hazel Arlene Cabe, 79 of Franklin passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. Mrs. Cabe was born
January 19, 1940 to the late Mack McCall and Ola Anders McCall. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Cabe played the piano and sang at her church for many years. There wasn’t a song she couldn’t sing or a note she couldn’t play. She was a member at Dryman’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Hazel is survived by her husband, William Milo Cabe, Jr., a daughter; Lara Gravley Turner (Kevin) of Clyde, NC. Two sisters; Mildred Owen of Brevard and Rowena Ashe (Paul) of Brevard. Two grandchildren; Sarah Grace Turner and Mary Beth Turner. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Philip Gravley; three sisters, Evonne Reese, Ernestine McCall and Polly Robinson; and two brothers, Buddy McCall and Ellery McCall.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Dryman’s Chapel United Methodist with Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Appalachian Animal Rescue Center in Franklin, NC ( www.appalachiananimalrescuecenter.com ).
