James Belch, 71, passed away August 19, 2018. He was born November 28, 1946 in Highland Park, Michigan. His parents were Walter J. Belch and Stella M. Belch, Survivors include his sons, Matt Belch, John Belch and James Belch; brothers, Dave Belch and his wife Sharron, John Belch and his wife Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Susan April Belch and by a sister, Patricia. James was a loving husband, father and brother.
James was a Vietnam Veteran who served as a Helicopter Crew Chief. He spent 18 years working as a journeyman mechanic and acquired 10 State of Michigan Certifications which some included master truck and diesel engine repair, sheet metal fabrication and welding. He also was a state of North Carolina Vehicle Inspector. James worked for WD Gale Enterprise, Barton & Malow rigging company, owned two businesses, one which was M.J.'s Auto repair in Michigan and a pet shop in Wilmington, North Carolina. James finished his career in Wilmington, NC working for the International airport as a shift leader, aircraft fire fighter, first responder and taught aircraft fire rescue classes. James will always be remembered by the lives he touched and his lessons will be passed on through those who valued all that he had to offer.
