James "Jim" Waldroop, 87, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born in Macon County, the son of the late Julian and Elizabeth Anderson Waldroop. He had worked as a State Highway Patrolman, Federal Park Ranger and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Waldroop liked farming and trout fishing, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Franklin, was a Mason for 54 years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Sue Waldroop, three daughters, Susan Proctor (Vance) of Vale, NC, Beth Vinson of Norfolk, VA and Melanie Waldroop of Franklin, NC; two grandchildren, Vance Proctor, III and Michele Proctor; and a sister, Julia Duvall of Franklin, NC.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory, with Rev. Eddie Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am till 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
