Jewel Reece Roper, 85, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Gwendolyn Green Reece. She was married to Jackson T. Roper who preceded her in death on May 7, 2000.
She was a business woman and owned Kountry Kampground and K‑Fashions.
Mrs. Roper liked to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Gail Roper and Susanne Roper Holland (Kevin) all of Franklin; sons, Gerald David Roper (Kathy), John Samuel Roper and George Edwin Roper (Pam) all of Franklin; sisters‑in‑law, Olivia Reece of Townville, SC and Geneva Reece of Stockbridge, GA; grandchildren, Ben Roper (Ashley), Jackson Roper, Camron Roper, Callie Roper, Abigail Crabtree (Timothy), Anissa Holland and Claire Holland and great‑grandsons, Garrett Roper, Peyton Roper and Nicholas Roper.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, William Benard Roper, a sister, Sue Reece and two brothers, Howard Reece and Jack Reece.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. David Crunkleton officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 ‑ 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
