To D. Lurdes and the Mira Family
May Mr. Mira rest in peace. His support and his involvement in so many Portuguese-American educational and social iniciatives will keep his memory alive among so many that share the longings from that small and distant country. His love for the United States and his achievements in the entrepeneurial field on American soil gave him a great place among the great Americans with Portuguese background.
Love.

Dear Teresa,

Our deepest condolences to you, your Mom, Carlos and
the entire Family on your Dad's passing. The Lord has
now welcomed His son to His eternal-peaceful side.

Thank you for sharing with us the news of your Dad's
passing yesterday,17 Aug 17, in Franklin, NC.

Requiescat in Pace (R.I.P.), Amigo Manuel.

Several months ago, your Dad personally contacted
us to inform of his medical condition, of the inevitable
result he would soon be facing, and to bid a final
farewell.

We prayed--and pray--for him and his Family for
personal courage, strength and continued faith in
the ultimate wisdom and omnipotence of our Lord
Jesus Christ - the true Engineer of all things.

Your Dad was a most positive, magnetizing, human-centered
person, and leader, both in his personally exciting technical
engineering responsibilities and with his work force at TekTone.

A decade ago, he was determined to--and worked so very
hard toward--earning the formal Master's degree in Engineering.
What a proud day for him, his Family and Friends!

He enjoyed full admiration and love of-- and for-- his entire Family
for whom he was ever-so proud.

Manuel C. Mira--Our good "Afilhado" ("Godchild", as he often
liked to call us "Padrinhos," or "Godparents") -- was a most
courageous, hard-working and positive-minded person. He was
a passionate history lover--a writer of books--with a special
affinity for cultural/historical prominence, especially with regard
to the Portuguese, Brazilian, Canadian and the American human
condition.

His Foundation--Portuguese-American Historical and Research
Foundation (PAHRF), based in Franklin, NC--is a monumental
statement to his ever-loving desire to bring forth the best in people
through their personal and professional qualities and
accomplishments.

Manuel was a genuine Friend; a perceptive human being we've had
the pleasure, and honor, of knowing over the years, along with his
wonderful best Friend-and-Wife, Lourdes.

May the good Lord's grace always shine upon you, and the entire
Family.

May He embrace each of you with His magnificent arms of love and
peace; and may He comfort your hearts with tears of joy, for Manuel
has now joined the greatest Engineering Plan of all times. In his--our--
native Portuguese, he can happily shout to the entire world-- now
from above :

"SEMPRE p'ra FRENTE!" ("ALWAYS FORWARD!")

God bless you, Teresa, your Mom, Lourdes, your brother Carlos, and the
entire Family.

Together, you are stronger. With God, we are forever....

Your father enjoyed Albert Pike's adage:

"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us. What we have
done for others, and the world, remains and is immortal."

Um grande a b r a c,o para si, Teresa, sua Mae, Carlos e toda a Familia ~ ~ ~

Sempre p'ra frente!
