Ada Florence Lenoir Leatherwood

Franklin, NC - Ada Florence Lenoir Leatherwood, 93, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in a local hospital. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Corine Huckaby Lenoir. She was married to Jess "Chunk" Leatherwood who preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Leatherwood was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. She loved to garden and fish.

She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Burch of Seneca, SC, Faye Leatherwood of Franklin and Hilda Cowart of Monroe, LA; one son, Eddie Leatherwood of Franklin; six sisters, Virginia Ramey, Nell Harrison, Mary Louse Wallace, Marie Holland, Jodie Sellers and Shirley Waldroop; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and four, great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Leatherwood was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie and Gene Leatherwood, and five brothers, J. B., Leon, Bill, John Wiley and Bennie Lenoir.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves and Pastor Brian Pitts officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Sellers, Steve Sellers, Mike Lenoir, Jerry Wayne Lenoir, Larry Wallace, Greg Waldrop, Keith Lewis, Larry Rasche and James Leatherwood, Jr.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
