Addie Ledbetter Vanhook
Franklin, NC - Addie Pauline Ledbetter VanHook, age 95, of Addington Bridge Road, Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late William C. and Sally Garland Ledbetter. She was married to the late Cecil C. VanHook. She retired from Belden Electrical Cord; she had also worked as a bookkeeper for Masons Chrysler and Plymouth, Mooney Chrysler Dealership, Joe Ashear and Roy Biddle. She enjoyed needle work and loved gardening, and was a member of Coweeta Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly VanHook Schrey and her husband Herb and Betty VanHook Dowdle and the late Hugh Dowdle all of Franklin, NC; one son, William C. VanHook and his wife Linda of Palm Bay, FL; one sister, Maggie L. Mason of Franklin; six grandchildren, Lynette Lee and her husband Tim of Sumter, SC, Billy VanHook, James VanHook and his wife, Leslie of Franklin, NC, Janet VanHook and her husband, Patrick Healy of Franklin, NC, Jeana Capaforte and her husband, Don of Mt. Airy, GA, and Hilary Schrey and wife Melanie of Palm Bay, FL; nine great-grandchildren, Justin and Chelsea Lee, Cara McClure, Amelia and Anthony Capaforte, Candace and Corey Dills, Jared and Joshua VanHook; one great-great grandson; four step-grandchildren, Tony and David Dowdle, and Bruce and Jimmy Davis, three step-great-grandsons, six step-great-granddaughters, and two step-great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte L. Henderson and Blanche L. Bateman and four brothers, Gerald Ledbetter,Clarence Ledbetter, Rob Roy Ledbetter, and Woodrow Ledbetter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9th at 3:00pm at Coweeta Baptist Church, with Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will be at Rush Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
