Agnes Ledford Byrd Newhouse

Franklin, NC - Agnes Ledford Byrd Newhouse, 91, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Andy Ledford and Bertha Dills. She was preceded in death by her husbands, B. C. Byrd and Roland Newhouse. In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sherman Ledford, Hoyt Ledford, Vernon Ledford, Harold Ledford and Jerry Ledford.

Mrs. Newhouse is survived by two daughters, Elaine Byrd Stewart and husband Larry of Waynesville and Annette Byrd Bell and husband Terry of Otto; four grandchildren, Allen Stewart and wife Donna, Amy Smith and husband Kevin, Kevin Bell and wife Jody, Daniel Bell and wife Sarah, and seven great grandchildren; Hailey Stewart, Madison Stewart, Ellie Smith, Brandon Bell, Blake Bell, Logan Bell and Cade Bell.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home in Franklin, NC, with Rev. Janet Greene officiating. Burial will be in Swain Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryson City.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service in the funeral home Chapel.
