Alan James Martin

Alan James Martin, age 77, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016.  He was born August 4, 1939 In Uniontown, PA, the son of the late Melvin and Ethel Springer Martin.  He was a retired Master Sergeant in the US Air Force with 20 years of service.  He formerly lived in Baltimore, MD, Orlando, FL and moved to Franklin, NC July, 2012.  He loved all sports, he liked to play golf, read, play brain puzzles and play with his dog Panzer.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Joanne, two daughters, Teresa Proctor (Dale) of Winter Haven, FL, and Barbara King (Jeff) of Orlando, FL; son, Randy Martin of Orlando, FL; brother, Dennis Martin (Corrine) of Louisville, KY; sister, Marilyn Tolentino (Steve) of Parrish, FL; grandchildren, great‑grandchildren and nieces and nephews; special friends, Fred and Pat Yanotti of Michigan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Martin and two sons, Alan Martin and Tommy Martin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida.
