Alfred Michael Scruggs

Alfred Michael Scruggs, 58, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016.  Born in Macon County, he was the son of Ora Sue Thomas Scruggs and the late Alfred Freeman Scruggs.  He loved the great outdoors, camping, gardening, fishing and basketball.  He was a member of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church.

Mr. Scruggs is survived by his mother, Ora Sue Thomas Scruggs of Franklin; one daughter Shaundra Scruggs of McDonough, GA; one son, Torin Scruggs of McDonough, GA; one granddaughter, Serenity Driver; two sisters, Susie Bryson and Janet Gentry (Donald) of Franklin; one brother, Darin Scruggs (Jessica) of Franklin and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Freeman Scruggs.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Adam West officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Parks, Ricky Parks, Jimmy Bryson, Charles Love, Bennie Freeman and Kurt Stewart.  The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 - 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
