Algie Coolidge Mccall

Algie McCall, 92, of Franklin passed away on August 16, 2016 after several months of declining health.  He was a WWII Veteran and was discharged with a Purple Heart. He was of the Baptist faith.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Luther McCall and Roxie Woods McCall. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly McCall; three half‑brothers, one half‑sister; two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Peek McCall; one son, Dale McCall (Donna) of Franklin, NC; one granddaughter, Amber McCall of Franklin, NC; three sisters, Lila Coggins of Sylva, NC, Rachel Levens of Mcleansville, NC and Wilcie Leanhardt of Virginia Beach, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev Carson Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Friday from 1:30 ‑ 2:30 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
