Alvin Ralph Allison
Charleston, SC & Hayesville, NC - Alvin Ralph Allison, age 60, of Charleston, SC formerly of Hayesville, NC passed away Thursday, November 27 at a Charleston hospital. He was born in Towns County, GA, the son of Betty Allison Wheeler and the late Ralph Allison. He was known for his loving, kind nature and mild spirit. Alvin was a humble man that everyone loved. He always let everyone know how much he loved them in return. He had a very deep love for God's Word, the Bible, and was fondly remembered for sitting in his chair with his study materials out.
He grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and loved fishing in creeks and rivers. He was always drawn to the sound of rushing waters. He also loved music and played the drums in a band for many years. We always laughed when he made up silly songs that he would sing around the house. As a young boy, he traveled with his dad across the country and that started his love for traveling. He visited almost every state. He will always be a caring son and brother, devoted husband, loving father, and proud Papa.
In addition to his mother, he survived by his wife, Catherine Allison; daughters, Heather and husband Michael Pierce and Lauren and husband Denis Kerr; sister Judy and husband Bruce Rogers; brothers, Charles Allison and Steve and his wife Scarlett Allison; granddaughters, Sarah Anne Kerr, Isabel Catherine, Alaina Allison and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 14 at 3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Hiawassee, GA with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
