Anna Lee Moffitt Shope

Anna Lee Moffitt Shope, age 101, of Franklin, NC, born to Bertha Ledford and Lawrence Clarke Moffitt, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025.

Mrs. Shope was a long-time member of Black Mountain Baptist Church. She loved to go out to eat, particularly to Ms. Lois', as it was one of her favorites. Anna also enjoyed shopping very much. She was a loving wife, sister, and aunt.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shope was preceded in death by her husband, Dover Shope; her sisters, Nellie Stamey, Nina Sanders, Ida Thomas, Ethel Thomas, and Hermie Dills; and her brothers, Ernest Moffitt, Ervin Moffitt, Roy Moffitt, and Leonard Moffitt.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joel Sanders, Frank Moffitt, Vic Sanders, Jeff Clark, Gary Green, and Danny Cook.
