Anne Hall Prince, 95, of Highlands, NC, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025 in Highlands, NC. She was a beloved wife and mother. Anne was born in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of the late John M. Barringer and Fannie C. Barringer. She was married to Luther W. Hall, Jr. who preceded her in death December 27, 1995, and her second husband, William O. Prince who preceded her in death September 30, 2019.
After high school graduation, Anne attended Radford University in VA. She met Luther W. Hall, Jr. and they married in 1948 and raised two children. She retired from Merrill Lynch after thirty (30) years of service as a Senior Administrative Assistant.
Anne was dedicated to serving the Lord and was a charter member of the Aldersgate/New Creation UMC where she served in various capacities such as President of her Golden Rule Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir for sixty (60) years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting, working in the yard, travelling and especially visiting with her children. She served as President of the Crawford Homeowners’ Association, Portsmouth, VA from 2001 to 2008 and enjoyed interacting with residents.
She took pride in loving and caring for her family and touched the hearts of all who knew her. We love you, Mom, always. You are in our hearts until we meet again.
She lived life fully and is now in her forever home, the house of the Lord.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances H. Leftwich (Dennis) of Highlands, NC and her daughter-in-law Gisele O. Hall of Bristol, VA. Her son, John W. Hall, preceded her in death June 18, 2023. Survivors also include two step- children, Carol L. Gillikin, of Portsmouth, VA and Michael A. O’Connor (Linda) of Portsmouth, VA.
The family wishes to express their utmost appreciation to Chestnut Hill of Highlands, Highlands, NC, Eckerd Living Center, Highlands, NC, and Four Seasons Hospice Care, Franklin, NC for their dedicated team of caregivers who provided their love and support.
A memorial service will be held later in Chesapeake, VA. Memorial donations may be made to the minister's discretionary fund at the New Creation United Methodist Church, 4320 Bruce Road, Chesapeake, VA 23321 with Rev. Randy Duncan officiating.
