Annie Mae Mcdowell Mcconnell

Franklin - Annie Mae McDowell McConnell, age 92, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born in Rabun Gap, GA, to the late Millard and Rose McDowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Roger McConnell; son, Wendell McConnell; brothers Paul, Dan and Carter; sisters, Mag, Frances, and Blanche; and son in law, Tommy Bateman.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. You knew she was happy when she was whistling and singing.

She is survived by three children: Wade McConnell, Jr. and wife Dola, Dee McConnell and wife Susie, and Carolyn McConnell Bateman; one sister, Kay McDowell Ledford, seven grandchildren; Karen and husband Bear, Janie and husband Eric, David and wife Missy, Vicki and husband Aaron, Jeff and wife Leah, Jenny and husband Rick; and Ethan; 12 great grandchildren and another one on the way; and 1 great great granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bill Faulkner and Josh Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons: Bear Carpenter, Eric Hall, David McConnell, Aaron Bowman, Jeff McConnell, and Rick Campbell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Carpenter, AJ Carpenter, Joey Hall, Tyler Bowman, Brady McConnell, Beau Bishop, Ethan McConnell, Kip Cochran and Bennie McConnell.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 13th from 12:00 2:00 pm, two hours prior to the service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
