Arlene (Crunkleton) Brown

Arlene Crunkleton Brown, 91, of Highlands, NC, passed away March 10, 2025.  She was born January 10, 1934, in Macon County, NC to the late Toliver Crunkleton and Lou Keener Crunkleton.  Mrs. Brown was a member of Highlands First Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker, an avid gardener, crochet, quilter and bird watcher. She loved puzzles and she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tomlee Brown, who died in 2000, a son, Clyde "Bo" Brown, and a great-grandson, Taylor Ramey.

Survivors include her children, Brenda B. Clark (Rod), Howard W. Brown (Janie), and Maxine Ramey (James), a daughter-in-law, Tammy Brown; grandchildren, Rebecca Shuler (Matt), B. J. Ramey (Amy), Travis Ramey (Anna Claire), Ligon Brown, Jason Brown, Ashley Brown and Anna Holbrooks (Chris); seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Zona Brown Baty (Robert).

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Miller Cemetery with Rev. Matt Shuler officiating.
