Arlie Owens II

October 5, 1941 — August 3, 2025

Franklin, NC

Celebrating the Life of Arlie Owens II, 83, of Franklin, NC (formerly of Morristown, TN and Pinellas Park, FL). Arlie Owens II passed away on August 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, having lived a remarkable life.

Arlie was a free spirit who cherished the open road and the stunning landscapes of the United States. With over 300,000 miles logged on his various Harley Davidson motorcycles, he explored extensively throughout the western regions. His life embodied the excitement of adventure and the quest for freedom. For many years, Arlie worked as a carpenter, crafting numerous homes across Pinellas County, Florida, Eastern Tennessee, and Western North Carolina. Upon retirement, he embraced travel, journeying across the country by semi-truck and motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Herbert Owens and Ellen Irene Roberts Owens, as well as his sister, Anna Lee (Owens) Cope.

Arlie is survived by his two sisters, Sue Ellen Owens Archambeault (Archie) and Mary Lou “Loopie” Owens Massey (James), along with five children: Arlie Ronald Owens, Sharla Renee Owens, Arlene Owens Brancaccio, Denise Owens Shields (Kevin), and Joseph Victor Owens (Kimberly). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

May his final ride be easy, and the road stretch far and wide. He may be gone, but the spirit of his adventures will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
