Barbara Ellen Hoffner Artman, 92, a resident at Fidelia Eckerd Living Center passed away peacefully February 1, 2022, with her loving niece Lorraine Missel Hamilton and husband Greg Hamilton at her side.
Born on January 13, 1930, to Floyd and H. Elsie (Spraggon) Hoffner in Streator, IL. Barbara and her former husband Floyd Artman moved to Delaware, OH where they owned and operated the Olentangy Caverns. After selling the Olentangy Caverns she moved to Sarasota, FL and then made her way to the mountains and settled in Franklin, NC. In her later years she was known for her beautiful colored pencil art, which many were hung around Eckerd Living Center. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and was also known for her sassy and spunky nature.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two children, Gail Ann Artman of Sarasota, FL and Greg Artman of Franklin, NC.
She is survived by two sisters, Donna Missel of Peru, IL and Judy Kohrt Wiseman of Henderson, NV; one granddaughter, Angela Artman-Scott of Sarasota, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
