Barbara Mckee Mcgaha

Barbara McKee McGaha, 72, went home to be with her savior and Lord on Monday, January 27, 2014.

Barbara was born on May 22, 1941 in Erwin, NC, the daughter of John Marvin and Treasure Willoford McKee. Barbara was married July 2, 1960 in Bryson City to Carlos McGaha of Franklin, NC. She was employed with Eckerd Drug / Rite Aid for over twenty years. She was a faithful member of Willomore Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping in the church nursery. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlos; brothers, Billy, Kenneth "Graham" and Dwight McKee; sisters Joyce Smith, Patsy Ryals and Brenda McKee.

Those left to cherish Barbara's memory are her son, Jimmy R. McGaha his wife Lisa, daughter Karen M. Fields her husband Bobby, daughter Kathy M. Fields; grandchildren; Gabriel, Graeson and Abigael McGaha; Tyler, Cody and Branson Fields; Emily and Garrett Fields; great grandson Joshua McGaha; family members; Cora "McKee" and Ray O'Brien, John and Docia McGaha, Shirley Vanhook, Beatrice and Charles Jones, Bruce and Barbara McGaha, Larry and Diane McGaha, JoBeth McKee, Mike Smith also numerous nieces and nephews; along with her beloved friends and members of Willomore Baptist Church.

Jimmy, Karen and Kathy wish to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice and Beacon Place for their sincerity, compassion and care of our mother.

The family received friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 31 at George Brothers Funeral Home, 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 01, 2014 at George Brothers Funeral Service
