Barbara Sue Passmore

Dillard, GA - Barbara Sue Passmore, 72, of Dillard, GA passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Hazel Justice Cope.

Barbara was an active member of Betty's Creek Baptist Church where over the years she taught Sunday School, played the piano, served as treasurer and supported the ladies Sunday School class and missions. Barbara graduated from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and was an active alumni. She was inducted into the RGNS basketball hall of fame. Barbara had an avid interest in the history of this area and wrote a book detailing the history of the schools in Rabun Gap. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a Master's Degree in Library Science. Barbara was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an important part of her community

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Judson Billy Passmore; two daughters, Sonya Cousineau and husband Troy and Paula Ledford and husband Gene, all of Otto, NC; one brother, Jerry Cope and wife Becky of Dillard, GA; four grandchildren, Renee Whitmire, Maleah McConnell, Mariah Crow and Madison Cousineau and one great grandchild, Adrian Greer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11:00 am at Betty's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Smith, Rev. Ronia Hunter and Rev. Everette Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Foster, Jeb Justice, Clarence Redden, Troy Cousineau, Marty Cope and Hugh Justice. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
