Barbara Jean Roper

Barbara Jean Roper, 83, of Franklin, NC, passed away April 17, 2024. She was born December 2, 1940, in Macon County, NC to the late William Wiley Roper and Nobia Potts Roper.

Barbara had worked as an office manager in a doctor's office; she also worked at Daltons Book Store for ten years.  She was a member of Cowee Baptist Church and was an avid prayer warrior. She was also known for her card ministry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Cabe; her brother-in-law, Charles Cabe, a brother, John William Roper; and a nephew, John Wayne Roper.

She is survived by a nephew, Kenny Cabe (Carolina), a niece Jean Dills Roper, a great-niece, Dr. Taylor Cabe Tang (Johnny), and her sister-in-law, Frances Bryson.

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev Jason Smith and Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. Burial will be in Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 PM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Mike Cochran, Mark Foster, Bennie Reynolds, David Morgan, Terry Cabe, and Steve Waldroop.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
