Beatrice "Bea" (Buchanan) Bell

Mrs. Beatrice Rebecca “Bea” Buchanan Bell, 88, passed away Friday June 7, 2019. Mrs. Bell was born in Macon County October 27, 1930 to the late Oscar and Edna Picklesimer Buchanan. She was married to the late Harvey Bell for 56 years until he preceded her in 2007. Mrs. Bea worked in the school system as a teacher’s assistant and for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk. She was a member of the Dryman’s Chapel UMC where she was on the membership committee and a Sunday School Historian. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Bell Morgan of Otto, NC; two sons, Terry Bell and his wife Annette and Mike Bell and his wife Judy all of Otto, NC; a sister, Verna “Tee” Henry of Otto, NC; five grandchildren, Kevin Bell (Jody), Daniel Bell (Sarah), Bryan Bell (Courtney), Kelly Morgan-Brown (Sam), and Lori Morgan; and five great-grandchildren, Blake Bell, Cade Bell, Grayson Bell, Brandon Bell, and Logan Bell.

Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, Mike Morgan, five sisters, Margie Cabe, Myrtle Campbell, Annie Dykes, Ruby Justice, and Hazel Rogers; and three brothers, Kenneth Buchanan, James Buchanan, and Neville Buchanan.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Dotson and Rev. Vic Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gary Buchanan, Jerry Rogers, Harold Justice, Jimmy Henry, Ralph “Greg” Bell, Sam Brown, Bryan Bell, and Kevin Bell.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Dryman’s UMC Building Fund in care of Lee Ann Muse 216 Tom McDowell Dr. Otto, NC 28763.
