Bennie Freeman

Mr. Bennie Freeman, 76, of Franklin, NC passed away Monday, February 24, 2025.

Mr. Bennie was born April 3, 1948, in Jackson, Co. NC to the late Catherine Freeman.

Bennie worked as a cook for Western Carolina University for many years, Belk Department Store in Sylva, and before he retired Zickgraf Lumber.

Bennie was a member of Burgess Chapel and attended New Bethel Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, fishing, cooking, hanging out with his friends, and loved to help and do anything for neighbors and friends.

Survivors include two cousins, Charles "Rip" Freeman, Jr. and Geraldine Beecham; and many friends.

A celebration of Life service will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home from 6-8 PM with the Rev. Keyth Eddings officiating. Bennie will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
