Bessie Bea Ashe

Franklin, NC - Bessie Bea Ashe, age 88, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert V. and Mellie Parker Shelton. She was married November 29, 1941 to Earlie Ashe, who preceded her in death.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who loved to cook for family and friends and decorating for holiday and loved flowers. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Ashe is survived by a sister, Nancy S.Wiseman of Black Mountain, NC; three grandchildren, Tim Ashe, Kim Henry and Bill Ashe; four great grandchildren, Keshia and Clell Ashe and Cole and Lindsey Henry; one great great grandchild, London Ashe and daughter in law, Frances Ashe of Waynesville, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Ashe; two sisters, Christine McCracken and Gussie Mae Smith and a brother, Jessie L. Shelton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Breedlove officiating. Burial will be in Holly Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clell Ashe, Cole Henry, Jim Wiseman, Joe Ballew, Darrell Lee, Matt Corbin and Gary Henry.

The family will receive friends, Sunday from 1:00 3:00 pm, two hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
