Bettie Louise Davis Downs

Franklin, NC - Bettie Louise Davis Downs, age 84, of Franklin, NC passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. Born in Hendersonville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Bessie Mae Burnette Davis. She was married to the late Thomas Troy Downs who died June 7, 1997. She was a member of Iotla Baptist Church;enjoyed quilting, sewing, and loved gardening and birds.

Mrs. Downs is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Downs Kinney and husband Terry of Lilburn, GA; one son, Thomas Troy Downs, Jr. and wife Carol of Signal Mtn., TN; three grandchildren, Rebecca Allyson Downs, Sarah Katherine Downs and Benjamin Seth Swetnam; two great-grandchildren, Thomas Bryce Swetnam and Lana Jolene Swetnam and one step-grandchild, Lauren Michelle Glahn.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Iotla Baptist Church with Rev. Stacy Wood and Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
